House Envy

House hunting is not my favorite.  It used to be fun, but it's quickly losing it's luster.  We still haven't found a house and we close in two weeks.  There are a few possibilities,  but nothing solid yet.  We're going to rent a house that PG City owns until we find something permanent.  We keep going back and forth between building a home or just buying one.  What to do!  Cody and I are HUGE fans of Craftsman style homes, so that is the look we are going for.  However, there aren't any Craftsman style homes for sale right now.  Lame.  If we had our way, we would be living in something like this...
or this...
or one of these...

I LOVE the screen door on this house.  That is a must in my next home - a wooden screen door.  It's so Summery to me!

Beautiful, right?  There are SO many gorgeous homes around Provo, I love to drive around and find them.  They certainly don't make them like they used to...

In other news, my brother Rich is getting married on FRIDAY!!   I have nothing to wear.   I went to the fabric store today with Cache hoping to find some fabric to make me a skirt (read: find fabric to give to Amelia so she can make me a fabulous skirt).  As I'm helplessly looking at a plethora of fabrics that won't work, I hear a familiar voice say, "If you can't find it here, you won't find it anywhere..."  I look up and it's my Mother!  Oh, Mumsy!!  Such great timing, I was so happy I ran into her there.  She was looking for material to use on the tables for the open house that my parents are hosting.  A few hours later we had a cart full of wonderful material and a load off our shoulders.  Shopping with Mom is the best.

Tomorrow we're going to look at some houses.  None of them look like this, however.  Sigh...I'll keep you posted!

I hate house hunting. It took us months to find our house that we love. I hope you find something soon! Provo does have beautiful houses but it screams, "You will have to dump a lot of money into me" to me!

I have one in Duluth, MN with 1/2 acre all fenced in for you. It's even under $300,000. It's funny, I wasn't looking for arts and crafts. I guess I have to love it at this point. :) Good luck, I hope you find that charmer.

I love the third house. You can always build a craftsman-like house. Huh? Maybe?

I hope you find the house of your dreams for the price of your dreams!

I'm totally with you! I want one of those houses!! My house is great but it's a cookie cutter tract house. Le sigh.

I soooo love those houses to. I want the second picture. I love the trees in front of it. Makes me miss VA. Everyone of my family members have trees and woods surrounding their house.

I would DIE of joy for any of those houses. We dig the craftsman thing too. We're cheaters, though, and wimps. We have a faux-craftsman house. It's only three years old... So it lacks some of the authentic charm, but it also has a great air conditioning system... :-D

(But no mature trees, and it's surrounded by a few thousand houses that are identical to it. So, yeah. It ain't perfect. haha.)

I hope you find the PERFECT house-- SOON!

PS! I just watched the most hilarious video on Hailey's blog! Of YOU! Singing "send"! HAHAHAHAHA. You're my hero. I hope I can watch you live one of these times.

I'm glad you suffer from House envy too. I hate looking at other peoples fabulous homes that cannot be mine.
I also LOVE that after announcing your bros birthday you immediately thought about what you're going to wear. A woman after my own heart. Whatever it is you put on, you'll look fantabulous.
