Easter!

Easter came so fast this year! It's crazy to think that Spring is already here. On Saturday we took Cache to Cody's Grandma's house for the Easter Egg Hunt she has each year. Cody filmed Cache and I searching for eggs, but I only got a couple pictures to post:

It was such a beautiful day and Cache was very thrilled with all the eggs and candy he got to take home!

On Easter Cache and I went up to my parents house for dinner and a movie. Cache had a great time throwing rocks into the stream in the backyard with my Mom.

He was helping my Dad with the grill...

...until he decided that throwing rocks in the water was a better way to spend his time!

After a yummy dinner we all went downstairs and watched "The Great Race" - a family favorite.

Has anyone seen this movie?? It's so good, I love it. Ahhh, it was great spending time with the family! Happy Easter!

Many a Dinner with Friends

It has been a busy week! Last Monday I was able to go out to dinner with Hannah and our old friend, Angie. I have known Angie since 5th grade and we have always stayed so close (look at the Flashback picture from last Tuesday - we have to stay close because that picture has excellent blackmail potential). Angie is married and now lives in Florida with her husband, but she is able to come visit every now and then and it was SO great to see her! It was also a blast to spend some time with Hannah. Her Birthday was last weekend and it was fun to be able to have an evening to catch up with her. Sadly - no picture of this dinner! Hannah and I don't have a photo, but Angie did take one so as soon as I get it from her, I'll post it.

On Wednesday night I went to see a play with my friend, Luone. Luone and I were in a play last Fall and became very close! She is hilarious, she's one of my favorite people. Here we are during the run of the play:
(She is going to kill me for posting this picture - she had all this make-up on to make her look like an old woman). We went to see our friend Kathryn (who directed the play we were in) in a Musical she's doing in Orem. Again, it was fabulous to spend time with them! We had a great evening enjoying the show.

On Friday night (yes, another) I went to dinner with Rhonda and Sara. I met Rhonda and Sara at the same time about 7 years ago. Sara now lives in the UK with her husband and new little son, Oliver. She has come back to Utah to stay with her family for a few months so we were able to spend some time together! Rhonda flew in for the weekend and we ate at our favorite local spot - Los Hermanos.

Saturday night Cody and I got together with Jon and Brittany. Alas, I have no picture of this wonderful evening. We met at Brick Oven where I proceeded to eat everything in sight. Our kids were extremely well-behaved and we had the best time! We watched the new James Bond movie after dinner and simply relaxed. It was so fun to see them, they're great. Goodness, a busy week all around! I think I need a nap.

Little Boy

Ever since he we was born, Cody and I have let Cache's hair grow out. His hair is white-blonde and it always looked so cute long! However, we began to realize that maybe it was time to give him a little boy haircut. Cody was going to get his hair trimmed the other night, so he took Cache along. Now he totally looks like a little boy! It's taken me a few days to get used to it, but doesn't he look so handsome?

Cache has this little habit of twirling his hair when he's tired, so I was wondering what his reaction was going to be when he tried to reach for his hair and it was gone! He hasn't really noticed, though. He sometimes will touch his head and rub his hand over his new haircut. I just think he looks rather dapper! Cody said he behaved like a champion during his haircut. He sat very still and was a star client. As much as I miss his long hair, I will tell you that it's a lot easier to do his hair in the morning! Awww, he's so cute...

To leg?

Leggings. They are back. With a vengeance. At first, I was not happy about this trend returning. I mean, I already did this! I wore leggings in Elementary school and sure didn't think they would ever make a big comeback. Alas, I eat my words - I'm starting to really dig 'em. I think the just-below-the-knee-length is my favorite. To avoid buying maternity tops, I've been buying some empire waisted dresses that are really cute and really long. However, I've had a hard time deciding what looks best with them - and then it hit me, "Hmmm, I wonder if leggings would look cute..."

Am I crazy? Thoughts? Tell me what you think about the leggings craze. Can I wear a different color than black? I'm not talking cobalt blue or crazy patterns or anything, but what about creams or greys? Come on fashion friends, spill!

Another riveting 50

Ah yes, another 50 - here we go!

51 - I have serious road rage
52 - My Senior year in High School, some of my friends and I dressed up like Super Heroes for Halloween. There was Poison Ivy, Cat Woman, Bat Girl, Wonder Woman and I was Shera
53 - I was born with red hair. It didn't turn blonde until I was almost 2
54 - One Christmas my sister and I got a lot of Barbie toys (the dream house, the corvette, etc.). We took all the toys down to our room and didn't leave for 3 DAYS. We came out to eat and stuff, but we literally didn't leave our room for 3 solid days
55 - I have hit a kitten, a mouse, a baby quail, a pigeon and a bunny with my car!!! So sad...
56 - I let my friend drive my Dad's car once when he was out of town. She backed into a pole and totally dented the rear fender - I took the blame
57 - Cody is a better cook than I am
58 - I got my first kiss when I was 15, his name was Ryan
59 - I got an alarm clock when I was about 9 years old. It was pink and purple and called "The P Jammer". The first time I saw Cody's room I discovered that he had the exact same alarm clock, just the boy version! It was black and green and called "The Night Jammer". He got his when he was about 11 - we still have both clocks!
60 - I love radishes
61 - I am afraid of the Ocean - mostly because of what lives in the Ocean...
62 - In 6th grade I was voted "Most Likely To Star on Saturday Night Live"
63 - During slumber parties in Elementary School and Junior High, my friends and I would have pageants. I don't really know what we called these pageants..."Miss Slumber Party"? We would have interviews and a talent competition, the whole deal. So I guess I have entered a beauty pageant! Hahahaha
64 - Cache is my grandparents 55th great-grandchild
65 - I placed 3rd in my 3rd grade Spelling Bee. I have no idea what word I messed up on, but I do still have the trophy
66 - My brother Rich is a sponsored Wakeboarder
67 - I was sort of a bully in Elementary School. I was very protective of my little brother and actually had to apologize to a guy in High School who was still afraid of me
68 - I have vivid memories of Kindergarten all through 6th grade. I remember quite of bit of Junior High and High School, but not as many as when I was younger
69 - During family vacations, we would listen to the Soundtrack of "The Music Man", which is one of my Dad's favorite musicals.
70 - In 8th grade, my best friend Angie and I got the lead role of the Narrator in the musical "Jospeh and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat". The show was a total smash with sold-out audiences every night. Considering we were all 13 and 14, the show was really good! When I listen to the soundtrack I get emotional during some of the songs because the memories from that show are so personal to me
71 - I was a very skinny kid - I didn't like to eat because I thought it was so boring. My Dad was really worried about me and made me tell him what I had eaten for lunch every day when I got home from school. He also made me drink these nasty protein shakes every day to put on weight
72 - I used to get acrylic nails. I haven't had them for years and I don't think I'll ever get them again, but lately I've been totally tempted to go get them put on!!
73 - I never bought a formal dress for date dances in High School. I either designed one and had it made or I borrowed one from a friend
74 - I love fishing
75 - Cody sold his Harley Road King last Summer and I miss it more than words can say
76 - Actually, the first night we met Cody took me on a ride on his Harley Sportster (he got the Road King a year or so later) and I was wearing a mini skirt...no wonder he asked for my number
77 - My friends and I used to make movies ALL THE TIME. I always had to use this super old video camera that my parents had until they bought me my very own when I was in High School. I still have most of the videos we made
78 - My husband and I love to go boating, but the only water sport I do is Wake Surfing
79 - When I was 22 I moved into an apartment complex where my older brother, Marty lived. A lot of the girls in the building were rude to me at first because they thought I was Marty's girlfriend. After they found out I was his sister, they all wanted to be my best friend because nearly every girl had a crush on him
80 - I have been boy crazy forever. I never went through a phase where I thought boys had "cooties"
81 - My friends and I used to cruise Movies 8 and look for boys. This was quite a big deal, everybody did it. We would get all gussied up just to drive "The 8" and I actually met a boyfriend there. Not too proud of that
82 - I grew up on Center Street in Provo. The 4th of July Parade is on Center Street, so every year growing up my brothers and sister and I and our friends would all sleep out on the lawn on July 3rd.
83 - About 5 years ago, I was totally sad and lonely one Friday night. I actually ordered a pizza for myself. I called in and said, "Yes, I would like to order a small pizza?" The dude on the phone said to me, "Um, that only feeds like one person - are you all alone or something?"....thanks, man
84 - My top three beauty secrets are shimmer lotion, self-tanner and Clearisil cream
85 - I hate cleaning the bathroom
86 - I love my license picture
87 - I eat at Wendy's more than I'd like to admit
88 - My favorite Disney movies are Hercules, The Emporer's New Groove & Robin Hood
89 - I have a total weakness for men of the 18th Century. My sister and I watched "The Scarlet Pimpernel" growing up and each of us share a love for men in fluffy shirts, knickers, knee-length coats and hair tied back in a ponytail (or a white wig, whatever). Mock if you must, I find men like that simply dashing!
90 - I don't really like candy
91 - I have a collection of movies that I watch when Cody is at work - musicals, old movies, etc. It's my only chance to see them, there's no way he would ever watch them with me!
92 - School was all about the social scene. I didn't work hard at grades because I simply didn't care - the only subjects I really loved were Ancient World History and Biology. I regret that now, I wish I would have pushed myself harder
93 - Because I love Ancient World History so much, I actually thought about becoming an Egyptologist when I grew up
94 - Cody and I both own a pair of Roller Skates
95 - My friend Heather and I are both pregnant and our due dates are about 4 days apart
96 - When I was little, I used to gather up the leaves that had fallen from the trees. I would put 6 leaves together and then place them back on the ground - I wanted to be sure that the leaves fell in families (there are 6 people in my family)
97 - Other than having a baby, I have never had to stay overnight in the Hospital
98 - My first car was a little red sentra named "Peppy"
99 - I got to sing on the radio on my 20th Birthday
100 - I never want to have to come up with 100 things again

Flashback Tuesday

Kate, Me, Katy, Hannah and Angie
Freshman Year in High School

I wish I had an explanation...but I don't.

4.01.2007

50 at a time...

I am copying Kate and doing what many-a-blogger do. I am posting 100 things about myself. Since I'm not positive I can come up with 100 things, I'm just going to do 50 for now...perhaps another 50 will follow later?

1 - I still have a huge crush on Cody
2 - I sometimes doubt my ability to be a Mother
3 - I LOVE old musicals from the 40's, 50's and 60's. My dream is to be in one of my favorites on stage, someday
4 - I don't have a very high self-esteem
5 - Halloween is my favorite Holiday
6- After Cody and I kissed for the first time, I said "Can you do that again, please?"
7- Towards the end of our wedding reception (which was outside), it started POURING rain - that was probably the most romantic thing and our favorite part of the entire day
8 - If I love a pair of shoes enough, I will buy two pairs
9 - I have met Harry Connick Jr. and Gwen Stefani
10 - I hate my freckles
11 - I dated the former drummer of the band, The Used
12 - I was engaged before I met Cody. After he called off the wedding, he got in his car and I have not seen or spoken to him since
13 - I played my cello in Carnegie Hall with my High School Orchestra
14 - I have never broken a bone
15 - I am afraid of the dark
16 - Although I love Halloween, I hate scary movies
17 - My famous Apple Pie is my Grandma's recipie
18 - I have about 8 girl cousins around my same age - I am the only one who has not entered a Beauty Pageant (My cousin Natalie was Miss Utah)
19 - I am a super picky eater
20 - I feel like I'm 17
21 - When Cody is working a 24-hour shift, I can't sleep and rarely get to bed before 2:00am
22 - My Mom used to send me to the grocery store a lot. I am grateful for that because I know Albertsons like the back of my hand
23 - I am the first girl Cody ever sent flowers to
24 - Dusk is my favorite time of day
25 - I have a huge weakness for Dr. Pepper
26 - I hung out with the band members from Jimmy Eat World on their tour bus after a concert
27 - I have had a nose job
28 - I still keep in touch with my Prom Date
29 - I am still friends with a guy I met at EFY 11 years ago (he liked my cousin, I liked his friend - so we became friends and have remained close every since!)
30 - My Dad is a Jeweler and almost all of my friends and ex-boyfriends have gotten their wedding rings from him
31 - This is a funny story - after High School I called into a radio station to request a song. The DJ's were kinda lame to me, so I decided to call back in an English accent. They immediately loved me and played my song right away. I came up with a phony name (Kayla Stein) and back-story (exhange student from England...what?) and proceeded to call in and chat with the DJ's every few days. This went on for about two months before I moved to Vegas. Ha!
32 - I never went to College
33 - My humor is my defense mechanism. I realized in Junior High that I wasn't the "pretty one" out of my friends, so I thought I could be the "funny one"
34 - This came back to haunt me - I dated a guy who actually told me to my face, "You're not the prettiest girl in the world, but you're totally awesome and my friends think you're hilarious". Uh huh...
35 - I have played the piano since I was 7
36 - I can't sew
37 - I plan and organize a big trip for my girlfriends from High School every Summer
38 - I was in Drama all through High School and during my Freshman year, our school did a play called "Absurd Person Singular" which was a Brittish comedy. None my friends were in it, but we saw every performance and talked in Brittish accents around each other for months...yeah, we were pretty lame
39 - I don't have a middle name
40 - I love 40's music, jazz standards, etc.
41 - In 4th grade, I had a fancy haircut - it was short on the right side (above my ear, like a bowl cut) and then gradually got longer until it was at my shoulder on the left side. Pretty snazzy, right? It was 1989 and I was so hip
42 - I am terrified of spiders and grasshoppers
43 - Lake Powell is one of my favorite places
44 - I have never been outside of the Country (I should mention that yes, I have been to Mexico. But really...does that count? When it's just two hours across the border and I didn't even need a Passport?)
45 - I would love to live in a farmhouse on acres of land someday
46 - I was named after a Beatles song
47 - Two weeks before 8th grade, we had a house fire that destroyed our roof and attic

PS - I had to re-post this because the comments weren't showing up for some reason. Sorry!
